We spent 90 unhurried minutes discussing my conditions, needs, and goals. “Dr. Lambeth is hands-down the best primary care doc -- scratch that -- make it best any-kind-of-care doc -- I've ever had. I'm 78. My career has taken me to 8 different cities, so I've had a few years and places worth of experience to compare. Here's what Dr. Lambeth does that makes a huge difference: She takes the time to listen -- really listen. She asks excellent follow up questions. She voices her observations, so I can fine-tune what I'm saying, and at the same time, understand what she's thinking. She listens to what I say about Dr. Google's valid-research-based first or second opinion and follows up appropriately, explaining what fits or doesn't fit and why.  She prepares for an appointment by reading through past history. During the appointment, she clearly remembers that history, both most recent and earlier. She doesn't make snap decisions. She considers various perspectives and alternatives. She knows the recommended periodic testing I need and follows up on the next exam to see that it's been completed. She spends more time talking with me than looking at the computer. She makes time for me when something urgent comes up. She treats me as a full partner in discussions about health care decisions.
